Your Best Buddy

Buddy has truly lived up to his name—he’s the ultimate best buddy. For several years, Buddy lived with a family in Thao Dien on a piece of land used for construction equipment and materials. When the family moved back to the countryside, they left behind Buddy and two other dogs. Unfortunately, one was quickly stolen by dog thieves before we could intervene. Luckily, a kind security guard named Mr. Thao took in Buddy and a pregnant female dog. Sadly, after she gave birth, the female dog passed away due to the parvovirus.
At that point, we stepped in to help, providing food and supporting medical costs for the remaining dogs. All of the puppies were adopted, but Buddy stayed with Mr. Thao until he could no longer keep him due to land redevelopment. Buddy is now at the shelter, and he’s quickly become a volunteer favorite thanks to his gentle and affectionate nature.

Sam’s journey began when he was left behind in a park by his previous owner. Despite witnessing the abandonment, the owner refused to take Sam back home. A kind-hearted lady couldn’t bear the thought of him wandering the park, vulnerable to bad intentions such as breeding or the meat trade. Although she already had two dogs and couldn’t keep another, she took Sam to our vet clinic to ensure his safety. When he arrived, Sam was suffering from malnutrition—a common issue with people who underestimate the care and food needs of huskies. Fortunately, Sam is now healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever home.

Initially, there was hope that Emmy would reunite with her previous owner overseas. She stayed with Carmen, one of our directors, in preparation for that move. Unfortunately, plans changed, but we believe there’s a forever family out there waiting for this special girl. Emmy adores human interaction and loves playing with other dogs. Living with Carmen’s other dogs and cats, she enjoys playful evenings and is even curious about the cats, often wanting to play but not always sure how.

Swiftly rescued and taken to the vet, the diagnosis revealed severe nerve damage in one leg, needing amputation, while the other suffered atrophy from lack of movement. After months of rehabilitation, you’d hardly tell he has 3 legs because nothing stops Donnie.

Wally’s life began in an abandoned warehouse in District 7, where he was left behind after the workers moved out. Kind neighbors took it upon themselves to feed and care for him. When they noticed his skin condition worsening, they reached out for help, and in December 2020, Wally was rescued. Thankfully, aside from his skin issue, Wally didn’t have any major health problems, and soon after, he was back to being a healthy and happy dog.
Since his rescue, Wally has been in foster care, patiently waiting for a forever home. As a senior dog, Wally may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he becomes a loyal and loving companion. He enjoys both his personal space and being close to his humans. She was malnourished and facing the terrifying possibility of being sold to the slaughterhouse by the security guards. A kind woman at the compound noticed May and, unable to take her in due to apartment restrictions, reached out to a friend who rescued May.
At the vet, May was diagnosed with E-canis and severe malnutrition. After receiving proper medical care and lots of love, May has made a full recovery and is now healthy and strong, ready to find her forever home.
May spent time in various foster homes before finding her current home in District 7. In every home, she has proven to be the sweetest and most cuddly dog. May loves to snuggle up for some love and is always happy to be your shadow. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the dog lovers' community, including Chris Otis and Hong Anh Nguyen, Nick was rescued and brought to safety. Suffering from a severe skin infection, ear mites, and a subsequent ear infection, Nick received intensive medical care, displaying resilience throughout. Now at the Laws For Paws Vietnam shelter, he walks around with confidence and a touch of swagger, earning him the nickname 'Nick the Gangster.'
Nick, with his unique charm, is not suitable for a family with young children under 13, as he can be a bit snappy when he needs some space. He thrives with someone experienced with dogs, as he communicates through body language and requires someone who can understand and provide additional training.

Despite her difficult beginnings, Sandy has not only recovered physically but has also regained her trust in humans, making great strides in her journey to resilience. Despite having a permanent limp on her back leg, she isn't in any pain and absolutely loves going for walks with her humans.
