Adopting a dog is a big responsibility so we need to make sure that you’re 100% committed to your new family member. Please take a few minutes to consider these lifestyle questions below. Thinking about these helps you in making the right choice.
· Do you live in a house or apartment? If an apartment do you have permission from BUILDING MANAGEMENT to have a dog?
· Do you have children? If yes, how old are they and are they involved in this process?
· Do you enjoy exercise?
· What do you do for work and how many hours are you there?
· Are you interested in adopting a puppy or an adult dog? If it’s a puppy how will you look after him/her when you are out of the home?
· If you are an expat are you aware of the costs involved in taking a dog to your next destination?
· Do you currently have a dog or cat or other animal at home? If yes will they be ok with a new family member?
So, once you have found your pawfect match and had your application approved, what's next?
1. Get your home prepped.
Please ensure your home is dog-proof so they can’t escape. Get them their own water and food bowl. Make a place for them to have their own space. Purchase a collar and harness along with a leash that is suitable for their size.
2. Get some supplies.
Buy some food that is according to their size and age. If it’s a puppy consider some pee pads and chew toys.
3. Pay the adoption fee.
Our adoption fee covers vaccinations, sterilisation and treatment costs.
