Buffy was rescued from a gas station where her brave mama had made shelter and given birth to five puppies. The staff at the station reached out to one of our team members, worried about the safety of the pups and desperate to find them a better life. With our shelter already at capacity and a major weekend event underway, we did our best to respond quickly. By the time we arrived, only one puppy remained. The others had already been given away, likely due to their “healthy” appearance.

The little one left behind had a skin infection on her back and we think she may have been overlooked for that reason. But to us, she was perfect. We rushed her to our vet clinic where she tested negative for any serious viruses, but was treated for severe worms, ticks, and her skin infection. Now, with her coat healed, energy restored, and a twinkle in her eye, Buffy is the picture of puppy joy.

Currently being fostered by one of our team members, she’s learning the ropes of being part of a loving home - and she’s stealing hearts left and right.
