Bobby

We love to give updates on our dogs being adopted. This is a VERY BIG part of what we do, making sure each dog finds the right forever home.  Our mission is to RESCUE, REHABILITATE and REHOME dogs who have been abused, abandoned and are in need of medical care. Bobby the dachshund needed all 3 of the R's.

This handsome little dude was a chain dog rescue. He had spent his whole 2 years alive on a chain in a garage. Never going for a walk and receiving little to no attention. For a breed like a dachshund it was torture . He was very lucky that an associate of Bobby's owners managed to convince them to give him up.

When he was freed and sent to us he was in need of not just love but also patient training. It actually took him several days before he would eat much of anything and allow us to take him for a walk. But once he got in with the pack at the Laws For Paws Vietnam house he became a happy, healthy and well behaved good boy but not without his quirks.

He actually needed to go to a place with no children, that is quiet (he is reactive to loud noises and yelling), did not have noisy common areas or busy elevators but other dogs were cool along with busy streets. We were patient and the right family came along who had also adopted a corgi (the original owner didn't like how long he was ). They understood the breed and were prepared to be patient which in the end wasn't needed as he fit in with them almost immediately. He is having experiences like cafes and doggy daycare that 6 months ago we would have not thought possible.
