Spot

Spot’s journey to a better life began on the night of May 26th, under heartbreaking circumstances. We believe Spot bravely escaped from a nearby dog meat restaurant, driven by an incredible will to live. Exhausted and scared, he found refuge next to an office building, where fate brought him into the lives of some kind-hearted people who refused to turn away.

Rikke, along with Vietnamese workers from a warehouse next door, began caring for him. They made sure he had food, water, and shelter, doing everything they could with what little resources they had. But Spot’s life was still far from what he deserved. With limited options, he spent his days chained in a small outdoor area, receiving minimal attention and no walks. Despite the loneliness and confinement, Spot never let it harden his heart. He remained as sweet and affectionate as ever, always eager for a gentle touch or a kind word.

Knowing he deserved a real chance at happiness, Rikke made sure Spot was sterilized, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and ticks. Her efforts gave Spot a clean bill of health, but more importantly, it prepared him for the next chapter of his life—a true forever home. Through it all, Spot’s incredible spirit shined. He loved human companionship, was calm and gentle, knew how to give his paw, and hardly ever barked. He just needed someone to see the beautiful soul beneath the hardships he had endured.

And then, that someone came along. A wonderful Vietnamese family living in Long An Province welcomed Spot into their home—and their hearts. With a spacious, open area perfect for a dog who had once been so confined, Spot now has the freedom to run, play, and explore. Even better, he’s made fast friends with a neighbor’s dog, and the two enjoy daily walks together, side by side. Spot has adjusted beautifully, showing the same affectionate and trusting spirit he carried through his darkest days. Seeing him so at peace, surrounded by love and wide open spaces, is everything we could have hoped for—and more.

We are endlessly grateful to Rikke, the workers, the vets, and Spot’s new family for believing in this special dog. Spot’s story is a true testament to the power of second chances and the incredible things that happen when a community comes together to help.

If you’d like to be part of more happy endings like Spot’s, please consider adopting, volunteering, donating, or sharing our mission. Every little bit helps change a life ❤️
