Claire Binkley
Claire Binkley, an emerging abstract expressionist painter based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, showcases a remarkable blend of youthful energy and mature artistic insight. Originally from the United States, Claire has been dedicated to her craft since childhood. Her work is characterized by a profound passion for creativity and a commitment to translating complex emotions into vibrant visual forms. With a strong technical foundation, Claire employs dynamic colors and energetic brushwork to craft paintings that foster a dialogue between movement and feeling, inviting viewers into a rich and intimate experience.
The Secret Garden
Mixed Media Acrylic on Canvas
200 × 200 cm
Bold, exuberant, and impossible to take in with a single glance, The Secret Garden invites the viewer into a world that seems to reveal something new each time you enter it.
At an impressive two meters square, this original mixed-media acrylic work by Ho Chi Minh City–based abstract expressionist Claire Binkley is a true statement piece. Layers of saturated turquoise, coral, violet, pink, green and electric blue collide with sweeping lines, organic forms, unexpected geometry and richly worked textures. Look closely and shapes begin to suggest flowers, vines, pathways, creatures and hidden spaces—only to dissolve again into abstraction.
Sale Price: 60,000,000 vnd | Reserve Price: 30,000,000 vnd
-
That sense of discovery is central to Binkley's work. Originally from Dallas, Texas and now based in Ho Chi Minh City, Claire describes her paintings as a dialogue between her own introspection and that of the viewer. Her distinctive abstract expressionist practice brings together color, shape, movement, memory and emotion, allowing each person to find something different within the canvas.
In The Secret Garden, that invitation feels particularly fitting. The monumental canvas is joyful without being simple, playful without losing sophistication, and wonderfully alive with movement. There is no single entrance and no prescribed path through this garden. Instead, the viewer is encouraged to wander—to notice, imagine, interpret and return.
This extraordinary work has an even greater purpose.
The Secret Garden is being auctioned in support of Laws for Paws, helping raise funds toward a new facility and the ongoing care of dogs and puppies in Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.
Bid generously. Take home an unforgettable original work of art - and help give a dog a safer, brighter future at the same time.

Majestic
Mixed Media Acrylic on Canvas
200 × 200 cm
Powerful, joyful and commanding, Majestic is exactly what its name promises.
At the heart of this canvas, an elephant emerges from an explosion of color, texture and movement. Its unmistakable form is grounded in deep greys, rich blues and bold gestural marks, while its magnificent ears seem almost to contain worlds of their own—mosaics of brilliant color that transform one of nature's most iconic animals into something celebratory, emotional and entirely unexpected.
Sale Price: 120,000,000 vnd | Reserve Price: 60,000,000 vnd
-
Surrounding the elephant is a luminous field of coral, peach, pink and gold, punctuated by expressive marks, fragments of geometry, energetic brushwork and flashes of saturated color. There is a wonderful tension between the strength and solidity of the elephant and the freedom of the abstraction around it. The result is a work that feels simultaneously strong and gentle, sophisticated and playful, grounded and gloriously alive.
That emotional interplay is characteristic of Ho Chi Minh City–based abstract expressionist Claire Binkley. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Binkley describes her work as a dialogue between her own introspection and that of the viewer—combining emotions, experiences and thoughts through an individual rhythm of color and form. Her practice celebrates artistic exploration and invites viewers to discover their own stories within each canvas.
In Majestic, the figurative and abstract come together beautifully. The elephant is immediately recognizable, yet the longer you look, the more there is to discover.
It is a painting about presence, strength and joy—and for this auction, those qualities take on an especially meaningful purpose.
Majestic is being auctioned in support of Laws for Paws, raising vital funds for a new facility and helping provide ongoing care for dogs and puppies in Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.
One bidder has the opportunity to take home an extraordinary original artwork while helping give vulnerable animals something equally extraordinary: safety, care and the chance of a better life.
Bid for the art. Bid for the animals. Bid generously.

Tạ Thanh Khuê & Studio
Tạ Thanh Khuê (b. 1991) was born and raised in Saigon, where she continues to live and work. Watercolor is her primary medium.
Her paintings often begin with things close at hand: cats, flowers and plants, a corner of Saigon, or simply something unexpected that catches her attention. Khuê is not particularly interested in reproducing exactly what is in front of her. What she sees passes through memory and imagination, and is eventually painted as she remembers and feels it.
-
For Khuê, painting does not have to stay faithful to reality in the way a camera records the world. She is more interested in discovering the less obvious colors within familiar subjects, while allowing water and brushwork to move freely, shaping their own reality. Observation, memory, and imagination naturally overlap throughout this process. Whatever the subject, Khuê sees the finished work as a kind of emotional self-portrait of herself at that particular moment.
Before pursuing art professionally in 2024, Khuê spent several years working in the creative industry. Alongside her studio practice and participation in exhibitions in Vietnam and abroad, she has managed Vietnam Watercolor Art Saigon since 2025, where she helps organise classes, painting sessions, and community activities, while connecting watercolor practitioners in Ho Chi Minh City.
Founded in 2018, Vietnam Watercolor Art grew out of a shared love for watercolor. Over time, it has become a place where artists, students, and art lovers can meet, paint together, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Alongside classes and studio practice, its activities include plein-air painting, workshops, artist exchanges, community gatherings, and exhibitions.
Vietnam Watercolor Art has also helped build connections between the Vietnamese watercolor community and artists around the world. Over the years, it has been involved in a number of international exhibitions in Vietnam, including a 2019 exhibition at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts featuring artists from 62 countries and territories, and the 2021 International Watercolor Autumn Exhibition, which brought together artists from 42 countries and territories.
At its heart, however, Vietnam Watercolor Art is shaped by much simpler things: people sitting down to paint together, exchanging techniques and experiences, heading outdoors to sketch, and making time for art in one another’s company. From these encounters have grown friendships, collaborations, and individual artistic journeys.Since 2025, artist Tạ Thanh Khuê has managed Vietnam Watercolor Art Saigon, continuing to develop its programme of art-making, education, group painting sessions, and community connections in Ho Chi Minh City.
The artists taking part in this exhibition are also connected through Vietnam Watercolor Art. Each has developed a distinct practice and visual language, but they share a history of learning, painting, exchanging ideas, and growing alongside one another through art.

Shweta Mangal
My roots lie in Jaipur, Rajasthan — a city known for its timeless grace and rich artistic heritage.
My relationship with art began at the age of four. Over the years, it grew from a childhood love into a way of understanding life itself.
I grew up surrounded by conversations and influenced by many forms of art — dance, painting, cooking, gardening, and even the way food was presented — all of which I inherited from my grandmother, mother, and father.

I was deeply shaped by my parents. My mother, a classical dancer and intuitive cook, introduced me to rhythm, grace, and sensory beauty. My father, both an artist and a doctor, showed me that creativity and science can coexist in harmony. From them, I learned that balance is the truest form of wellness.
Over time, I explored multiple artistic styles and mediums, created more than 3,000 artworks, and had the privilege of guiding students from diverse backgrounds and stages of learning, while also working closely with clients whose walls are adorned with my artworks. Art has always been therapeutic for me — a quiet space where emotions find colour and stillness finds expression.
Along the way, I pursued formal training in art therapy, deepening my understanding of art as a tool for healing and self-awareness.
My belief in sattvic living and traditional culinary wisdom comes from a deep respect for natural, mindful living. Food, like art, is most powerful when created with awareness and intention. Over the years, I have shared my culinary skills and witnessed the quiet joy and sense of wonder that arises from a well-cooked meal — not because of complexity, but because of purity, skill, and mindful preparation. These experiences were further enriched through professional culinary training, reaffirming my belief in time-honoured wisdom and in the idea that food, like art, speaks most deeply when it is honest and thoughtfully made.
I studied Nutrition and Dietetics and later became a certified IB and IGCSE art educator. This allowed my two lifelong passions — art and food — to come together naturally. I see them as twin expressions of balance: one nourishing the mind, the other the body.
Alongside this, there has always been a constant urge to learn, explore, and execute more — an inner drive that keeps me moving forward. It is a passion that goes beyond words and continues to shape everything I create.
Having lived across Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, and India for over two decades, my perspective blends Eastern serenity with a global sensibility.
HerbzenHues was born from this journey — a space where canvas meets cuisine, and creativity meets consciousness. Through my work, I invite people to slow down, reconnect, and experience wellness through art, colour, and conscious living.
This is not simply what I do — it is how I choose to live.

Olivia Mai-Chi Stuart
I am currently a Year 13 student at BIS. I have been creating art my entire life and it's a huge part of who I am. As an artist, I tend to gravitate towards portraiture. My favourite and most rewarding part of art is trying to capture who someone is, what they are feeling and what they want to say from their face alone. My favourite medium is definitely paint: oil paints, gouache, acrylic and water colour! I think a prominent aspect of my work comes from my focus on colour.
-
No matter the artwork, I make sure the colours are vibrant and give the piece life – from the slight yellow sheen of a chair to the warm sunlight hitting someone’s face, I love to emphasise the beauty in the ordinary.
So, although I mostly enjoy realism, I think my artwork captures a surreal version of real life. Many of my influences come from my experience of growing up – looking at life through a different lens and appreciating the now. This can be seen in my submitted artworks about self-expression, noticing the subtleties in my environment, capturing what I love.
