October Spotlights

Sam & Dash

  • Sam’s journey began when he was left behind in a park by his previous owner. A kind-hearted woman couldn’t bear the thought of him being alone and at risk, so she brought him to safety. When Sam arrived, he was underweight and weak, but once he settled into the shelter and got proper nutrition, his playful husky personality came shining through.

Not long after, Sam found his forever family. Living in loving Vietnamese household with space, warmth, and patience to match his big personality. After seeing how well he had settled, the family decided to open their hearts once more and adopted sweet little Dash.

Dash, the smallest of his litter, had been rescued from a construction site where the puppies were living near a swimming pool. Full of energy and charm, he quickly grew into a happy, confident pup at the shelter. When Sam’s family met him, it was an instant connection.

Today, Sam and Dash share a life filled with garden playtime, outdoor walks, spa days, and endless games of tug. Two rescue stories, one perfect family; and a reminder that love truly multiplies when you adopt.

Tatum

  • Tatum’s life took a sudden turn when her family had to leave the country due to financial difficulties, leaving her behind in their rented home. When the landlord refused access to the pet sitter and wouldn’t allow Tatum to be taken, things looked bleak. With persistence, we were finally able to bring her into our care.

She arrived in poor condition -severely matted, underweight, and in need of care. After a long-overdue grooming session, nutritious meals, and time in a loving foster home, her gentle, playful personality began to shine again.

When a family came looking for a calm but fun companion to add to their family with their rescued dog Allie, it was an instant match. At over 12 years old, Tatum has settled perfectly into her new home, proudly embracing her role as the household “Grandma.” She may be mostly deaf, but that doesn’t stop her midday zoomies or park adventures with her sister. She loves long naps and can often be found cuddling shoes for comfort.

Her new family adore her and since her adopter is the sister of one of our team members, we’re lucky to still get plenty of Tatum cuddles too.

Honey (formerly Hela)

  • When Hela was found wandering the streets, she was in terrible shape. Likely dumped by her previous family, her thick, matted coat was causing constant pain and trapping heat in the midday sun. Beneath it, her body was covered in ticks, and she was battling e-canis - a blood parasite caused by hundreds of tick bites.

Once safely in our care, she was groomed, treated, and finally free from the discomfort she had lived with for so long. It didn’t take long for the perfect adopter to come along, someone who had always loved poodles but wanted to adopt rather than buy. The match couldn’t have been better.

Now renamed Honey, she lives a life full of love and care. Her mom goes the extra mile to keep her healthy, even tailoring her diet to avoid skin irritations. These days, Honey enjoys beach trips, motorbike rides, long walks, and endless cuddle time with her mom. This is a truly sweet ending for a dog who deserves it all.

Alumni Tails

Leo

This month on Alumni Tails, we’re catching up with our adorable pup Leo.
A year on from his adoption day, he’s thriving with his new family!

When Leo was rescued, he was small and broken — but still full of hope and love. He needed ongoing care and support, but he continued to fight. From the beginning, he showed energy, determination, and a strong will to live a happy life.

Now, one year later, Leo has grown into a fantastic companion for his forever family. He’s more than three times the size he was when first rescued, and his goofy, clumsy, wild, and loving personality has completely filled their hearts — they can’t imagine life without him.

Despite his fair share of injuries and surgeries, Leo has always remained positive, energetic, and affectionate. Now firmly on a healed path, he spends his days running, jumping, playing, learning new tricks, and making friends wherever he goes.

He adores other dogs and their company, he’s friendly, happy, full of energy and joy and is extremely goofy, clumsy and full of character.
