October has not slowed down for the shelter! It has been a big month of new arrivals, fundraising, events and impact.
There’s so much to share, so let’s dive in.
New Arrivals
Sweets
Sweet, gentle and full of quiet charm, Sweets is a lovely little boy who has come a long way since being rescued from the streets. After arriving in poor condition, he has blossomed into a happy, easy-going pup with a heart of gold. With his affectionate nature and sweet personality, Sweets is ready to find a loving forever family to call his own.
Join the Care Collective
The Care Collective is the community of monthly supporters whose ongoing contributions provide the stability needed to sustain rescue, rehabilitation, and shelter operations at Laws for Paws Vietnam.
More puppies = more first vaccines, tick and flea, dewormer, and blood test panels.
Monthly support allows us to plan ahead, maintain consistent standards of care, and provide the long term care our dogs require. Your monthly support directly determines the level of care we can provide.
Driving Change
Why we’re building Urban Glamp
Some dogs will never be adopted. Not because anything is wrong with them, but because the right family never comes. The seniors, the shy ones, the ones who love quietly. For them, a shelter becomes a lifetime, not a stopover.
That’s why we’re building Urban Glamp.
Urban Glamp will be a sanctuary, a permanent home for the dogs who wait longest, built on the edge of Ho Chi Minh City. It will also be a glamping retreat, where guests come to stay in nature, among the dogs. What they pay will be invested back into the care for the dogs who live there. The dogs are not part of the experience. They are the reason it exists.
It will also house a quarantine facility, the first of its kind here, so that when a large rescue happens and there is nowhere else to turn, we can say yes.
But here is the honest part. It isn’t built yet.
Right now, Urban Glamp is a plan, a piece of land we hope to secure, and a goal we have not yet reached. We cannot take the land until we can also build on it. What we’ve raised sounds like a lot, but it does not yet cover a home, a quarantine facility, and the ground beneath them.
So this is where we are: close, but not there. Clear on what we’re building, and why it matters.
A home for the dogs who were never going to be chosen. And the means to keep saying yes to the next one.

Adoption Spotlights
Betty
-
Betty was one of five puppies dumped at our vet clinic, but you would never guess it from her sweet, trusting nature. One of the calmer ones in the litter, she was curious but thoughtful, affectionate without ever being overbearing. She loved people, playtime, and plush toys, and she had the best puppy eyes you’ve ever seen.
Her path to a family began with a recommendation. Her adopter has a friend who adopted a dog from us way back in 2019. When she started thinking about getting a dog of her own, that friend pointed her our way, and as they say, the rest is history.
Betty now lives in one of the greener corners of Ho Chi Minh City, where she has a gentle home to match her gentle energy and a best friend in Pepper. Living her best life, exactly as she deserved.
Latte
-
Latte was one of five puppies dumped at our vet clinic, sharing that rough start with her littermate Betty. But Latte never let it dim her spark. The largest of the litter, she had big sister energy in spades: confident, snuggly, and always the first to run up and say hello.
With her soulful eyes and the fluffiest ears, she won over everyone she met. People and playtime were her two great loves, and whether she was bouncing around the yard or melting into someone’s arms, she was a coffee break buddy and cuddle companion all in one.
She found her family in a lovely household of three, and she now lives the luxury life in a big penthouse apartment, complete with her very own dog run. Not bad for a girl who started out in a cardboard box on a clinic doorstep.
Skye & Maddi
-
Maddi’s story is one of resilience and community. She and her four siblings were born beside a family’s home in heartbreaking circumstances, when their mother passed away giving birth. The homeowner reached out for help, a kind community member alerted us, and our longtime puppy fosters stepped in without hesitation, giving the newborns round-the-clock care. Sadly, despite everything, four of the five puppies passed away within days, a heartbreaking but not uncommon outcome for orphaned newborns. But Maddi was a fighter. Against the odds she pulled through, and she grew into a feisty, confident, affectionate pup.
Skye’s beginning was just as hard. She was one of three puppies rescued from a dog meat slaughterhouse in Bến Tre, arriving with parasites, diarrhoea, and severe malnutrition. In just a few weeks in our care she blossomed into a vibrant, joyful puppy. A little explorer, she was always curious about what the adult dogs were up to and eager to befriend every volunteer she met.
Over the Christmas holidays, the two girls were fostered together by two of our volunteers. It didn’t take long for the volunteers to fall in love, and the girls never left. Maddi and Skye were adopted together, going home as a pair.
From a difficult start for each of them to a home shared with a best friend, these two have every reason to celebrate.

October Recap
Mallfest
Our shelter joined MallPetFest Premium Autumn Edition at Estella Place, bringing along some of our rescue pups to meet visitors and pet lovers. It was a lovely weekend connecting with the community, sharing our mission, and introducing people to the work we do. We loved seeing so many people stop by to say hello and spend time with our pups!
AHI Halloween Bazaar
Our shelter joined the AHI Halloween Bazaar 2026 at Anne Hill International School for a fun-filled day of community activities and Halloween festivities.
