Mayra had not had her own dog before but did have friends with dogs who she helped care for so she did have some understanding what she wanted. When she reached out to Laws For Paws Vietnam we suggested she come and visit our new shelter and see which dog might be her purfect match. Windmill ticked a lot of those boxes, small, calm and friendly but he was not without his challenges.

He was a cage rescue and like many animals kept in small spaces he moved in circles and have never been on a leash before. Mayra was patient and took the time to get to know him. This included coming along 5 days in a row to hang out with him and be involved in his leash training. She didn't rush him, was calm and let him move at his pace with the getting to know each other part.

As you can see by the pictures this was the right way to go for Mayra and Windmill. He is now enjoying the freedom that comes with having someone who loves him, he has already been to Halloween celebrations, enjoyed an outdoor cafe and has made lots of new friends.
